Bible Reading Plan

As Christ followers, we look to the Bible for answers to life's questions. But looking at the Bible in one large chunk can seem intimidating, especially if you have never studied it before. Bible reading plans are a systematic way to approach reading the Bible in smaller portions. It's a great way to become personally acquainted with the Bible and begin to understand the Scripture that says, "I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you."

If you're not yet a Christian, or if you've been following Him for years, a great "next step" is spending time reading the Bible to get to know more about Jesus. We like the app YouVersion, with its many Bible Reading plans and options. It's a free Bible for your phone, tablet, or computer! There are Bible Reading Plans in the app for students, families, specific topics, devotionals, or chronologically reading through the Scriptures.

God designed us to live out our spiritual journeys together in community. Growing as a believer in Christ is a lifelong process that’s meant to be experienced in community with others. In the Bible, the book of Acts gives the historical account that the early church “devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer” (Acts 2:42). This model for community is simple and vibrant. Hillside offers the same opportunity for anyone who wants to join in.

Get plugged in to a GROUP at Hillside. Whether it meets on a specific campus on Sunday mornings, as a Study Group during the week, casually in someone’s home, or in a circle with others seeking help in recovery, a GROUP is the best way to experience personal spiritual growth and feel connected to other people. Each Hillside campus has a unique approach to GROUPS.

Bible Studies are GROUPS that gather together to focus on studying and discussing God's Word. Most of these Bible studies meet on a campus for a specific period of time. When the studies are completed, participants have the option of continuing to meet as a home group, or waiting until the next Bible study is offered at their campus.
